I am a Certified Organic Haircolorist and Hairstylist. I have a 3 chair salon with 2 business partners in SoHo, NYC. We use only Organic hair care/styling products, and only ammonia-free/herbal-based hair color. We don't do any chemical straightening or perms or nail care...so we are a clean-air salon. There are other salons that offer ammonia-free color, and some green products...however, we are the greenest/cleanest salon in the city.

Journey Into Green:
How did sohoorganics come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
I was raised in the Mid-South (Memphis, TN), and grew up on 3 acres (1.5 of which was "garden"). My father's side of the family were true "dirt farmers"...living with no electricity or indoor plumbing and spending all day every day working the dirt. I grew up knowing that the basis of health and nutrition is a healthy diet and healthy living. We rarely bought anything we didn't grow or hunt. Today, the terms "green" and "organic" are simply monikers for the way humans are supposed to be eating.
