It is not easy being green, or so the saying goes. But what if you have a gorgeous mate by your side to help in the cause? You’ve heard of the A list, but get ready for the G list! The earth has some of its comeliest celebs fighting to save it. And now that some of them have decided to pair up, the green movement has never been so gorgeous. Check out our homage to the coolest, greenest celebrity couples out there.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
The Supercouple of the World are well known for their green efforts. (And happily, NOT breaking up despite the suspicions of a certain green blogger.) Pitt is well-known for his efforts to rebuild a green New Orleans after Katrina. He has also teamed up with beauty company Kiehl's to raise money for JPF Eco Systems, an environmental charity he created. And girlfriend Angelina is well-known for her good humanitarian works. She is also committed to keeping herself and her huge family as organic as possible. Yes, they fly around in private jets, but luckily their good green works help lower their carbon footprint.

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia deRossi
The talk show comedienne and her Australian actress wife are another couple who make green look good. Both are committed vegans, and they recently celebrated their marriage in 2008 with an entirely vegan reception. They even had a vegan red velvet wedding cake – can we say yum? Ellen is well-known for her longtime love of animals. Her lovely wife Portia recently debuted a vegan shoe line any day now. Vegan, green, and in love – life is good for this eco pair.

Cate Blanchett and Andrew Upton
Another Down Under celebrity couple is making green a priority. The Sydney Theatre Company recently announced that the Australian actress and her playwright husband have taken on a project known as Greening the Wharf. They are reviewing the company’s energy intake, hoping to make it completely carbon neutral. This includes installing solar panels and rehauling the water-system. Also, company brochures are printed on carbon-neutral paper. Classy and green!

Bono and Alison Hewson
This legendary rocker is a longtime humanitarian and activist. According to sources, in 2002 he co-founded the organization DATA (for Debt, AIDS, Trade and Africa). This organization is partner with the ONE campaign, which fights AIDS worldwide. Edun Live is an organic clothing line created by Bono’s wife, Alison Hewson. The hugely popular eco-company is designed to support sustainable socioeconomic development in Africa.
