About OnestaOrganics:
OnestaOrganics's interests, passions, hobbies and favorite activities, etc.
I am a Ph.D. zoologist and started my own pet food company, Onesta Organics (www.onestaorganics.com), because most of the commercial convenience pet foods were and still are pretty bad for both the health of pets and the planet. My company is the first pet food company in the US that is both certified organic and approved by Green America. Onesta Organics' human-grade products are not only dehydrated at low temperatures to preserve nutrients, but are also certified organic. Unlike other (non-certified) organic claims, certified organic pet food claims are regulated and enforced by the government or government-accredited organic certifiers. This means that only certified organic pet food claims are verified by an unbiased third-party, while other organic claims aren’t (so here its all down to trust! … and that in this very competitive industry!). Organic certification assures your pet's food contains at least 95% organic ingredients, no GMOs, no synthetics, and no ingredients that can't clearly be traced to its source. Organic certification provides the best transparency and traceability in ingredient sourcing possible. As one State compliance officer at CDFA (California Department of Food and Agriculture) wrote to me in 2008: “It is buyer be ware of any pet food product that does not show that it is certified by one of the NOP certification agents.” Organic certification is, according to common sense and Green Seal, “the most credible claim for human and pet foods, also in respect to any green claims.” A ‘green’ or ‘environmentally-friendly’ looking pet food package may make consumers believe that the contained product is also ‘green,’ but in reality the product is only then ‘green’ if it is certified organic.

Journey Into Green:
How did OnestaOrganics come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
I grew up like this (green). Nature girl. Animal friend. Friend of everything living, that has lived, or that will live. I came to understand early that we are not independent cells living our lives isolated from everything/body else.
