About ecologiclife:
ecologiclife's interests, passions, hobbies and favorite activities, etc.
I founded EcoLogic Life - green design showroom in 2007 when I made a trip to Ojai and Ventura County, CA and recognized the strong desire of the people to shift their lifestyle to a much more sustainable way of living. I then set out with a mission... to make eco-friendly building materials accessible, and to teach ways of creating beautiful, healthy, affordable environments that promote sustainability and can be a source of well being. I have been a proponent of environmental causes for many years, beginning with Environmental Studies courses in college. I received my degree in Interior Environmental Design and began my career as an Interior Designer. I then worked many years as a manufacturer's representative for a variety of building materials and finishes, assisting architects, designers and contractors with design and technical information. During that time, I built two new homes of my own with conventional building materials. I became very ill and it took a few years to determine that it was my homes, with their toxic finishes and materials, which were making me ill. By changing my environment and surrounding myself with natural and healthy alternatives, I has regained my health. I am a Build It Green Certified Green Building Professional, a member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), the Natural Building Network, and the Institute for Bau-Biologie and Ecology. I am currently studying for my Certification as a Bau-Biologie (Building Biology) Practitioner. And, I also sit on the Ojai Valley Green Coalition - Building and Construction committee where I helped to design and assemble a mock green home in both the Ojai Valley Museum and the Community Services of Ventura County Green Center. Cynthia is currently active in remodeling projects for residential and commercial spaces, and also in researching, writing about and promoting ecohealthy building and sustainability commitments of ecotourisim resorts, destinations and other lodging and restaurants. Cynthia is passionate about sharing her knowledge of healthy, eco-friendly building. She is available for speaking/teaching engagements, consultations on material selection & specification, space planning & design, and will compile written articles for any media.

Journey Into Green:
How did ecologiclife come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
From a child I've felt a strong desire to be a steward of the earth, remembering the public service announcements to fight littering with the noble Native American Indian shedding a tear over the trash cluttering our highways. It's been my goal since then to always educate myself on ways I can improve my impact on the planet.
