About shadesnaturalcolor:
shadesnaturalcolor's interests, passions, hobbies and favorite activities, etc.
I have always had a passion for the ocean. I love going to places like Hawaii that are still fairly untouched. After the birth of my son I felt that I need to make more of an effort in my life to keep the world clean. I began working with Susan Henry at SHADES because the color she developed in 100% ammonia free and is biodegradable. I feel blessed being able to work at Shades especially now that I am pregnant with my second child.

Journey Into Green:
How did shadesnaturalcolor come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
Shades Natural Hair Studio. The green inspiration at Shades comes from owner Susan Henry's struggle with health problems due to the ammonia content in professional hair color products. Susan, a 30-year veteran of Beverly Hills style scene, fell seriously ill from her everyday exposure to ammonia based hair color products. Susan was shocked at how her exposure to hair color had made her incredibly ill and had let to the break down of her immune system. Through her own research, she learned about ammonia and other harmful coal tar derivatives found in commercial hair color. Instead of giving up on her talent as a hair colorist, Susan took a hiatus from the salon world to develop her own hair color.
