Tiny house are cute, tiny houses are small, and tiny houses….are the latest trend among green homeowners! Companies like the Tumbleweed Tiny House Company are selling tiny pre-fab homes like hotcakes. And blogs like the tremendously popular Tiny House Blog have people clicking away at the coolest, cutest little cottages this side of a McMansion. In fact, the Small Home Movement, an architectural and social movement that advocates living in small homes, has never been stronger. After all, if you live in a house that measures just 89 square feet across, you’re going to have a lesser environmental impact and not a lot of unused space.
So in honor of some of the cutest, greenest, smallest homes out there, here’s a look at some of our favorite tiny homes.

The Micro Cottage in the Woods
This home was custom designed by Kim and Ray Faiola, who used Sheldon Designs as a base for their new home. It is connected to electrical and septic – and is completely adorable. To quote the great Liz Lemon, “I want to go to there.”

The Epu
Tumbleweed Tiny House Company owner Jay Shafer lives in this home that measures 89 square feet. It has a main room, kitchen, bathroom, and a porch. You can purchase it ready made for $45,997 or build it yourself for $19,950. Whoever said building a new home had to break the bank?

The Little Red Cabin
This cute little compact cabin in the woods has a kitchen, bathroom, sleeping loft, and a hot tub out back. And from the looks of it, one mean red coat of paint that could possibly be seen from space. Cute and cuter!

The Collins
The Collins, from tiny house maker Tiny Texas House, is made from salvaged lumber. They offer low volt wiring to solar power. They are also constructed to make them easily off the grid if so requested.

Saturn Wee House
Alchemy Architects offers the Saturn Wee House, which employs a design strategy to recycle and reuse to combat unnecessary waste. The Saturn Pre-Built house, for a mere $48,000, offers a little more space than some of our other feature little homes. It is 324 square feet and may sit on a permanent or temporary foundation.

The Archipod
Okay, so it’s technically not a home but an office, but how cool is it? It’s the perfect little space for everyone who has ever dreamed of working from home in their backyard. The Archipod can set right up in your garden. It’s made from FSC-certified timber, recycled glass, and designed to minimize waste.

The Sebastarosa
The Sebastarosa from Tumbleweed Houses is a large tiny house, coming in at 681 square feet. Not bad when you consider it can be a 2 or 3 bedrooms home. You have to build this one yourself – it’s not a modular home so no shipping pre-fab – but odds are you’ll still be the cutest cottage on the block.
