When you eat fresh, organic Farmer’s Market produce, you literally can taste summer. The freshness, the crispness, the goodness – you can practically sample the sunlight in every morsel. So how cool would it be if you could just drink it down? With these summer cocktail recipes made up of fresh, Farmer’s Market goods and organic liquors, here’s a way to do just that.
Our friends from In the Land of Cocktails pointed us to expert foodie John Gabaldon, otherwise known as the Grazing Gourmet.
Gabaldon likes to highlight the nutritional benefits of the most delicious dishes and to provide healthy ingredient substitutes whenever necessary. And just for Greenopia readers, Gabaldon has chosen to share three organic summer cocktail recipes!

Organic lemon slices
Organic Strawberry Basil Daiquiri
Yields 2 Drinks
2 cups frozen organic strawberries
4 shots organic rum
2 shots basil simple syrup (1 cup organic sugar, 1 cup water, sprigs of Farmer’s Market basil)
1 shot lemon juice (from fresh organic lemon)
Water as needed
In a blender, add strawberries, rum, basil simple syrup and lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Add water as needed to get a pour able consistency. Pour into tall glasses. Garnish with a strawberry and a sprig of fresh basil. This recipe can be adjusted for a margarita by adding your favorite tequila and a little more lemon juice or you can omit the alcohol and add the pureed mixture to a glass of lemonade for strawberry lemonade.
Yields 1 Drink
½ tsp organic rosemary simple syrup (Made from 1 cup water, 1 cup organic sugar, 4 fresh rosemary sprigs)
2 tbsp freshly squeezed Farmer’s Market orange juice
Organic Champagne
In a tall narrow glass or champagne flute add orange juice and simple syrup. Pour your favorite organic champagne.
