Green Efforts: Like their name suggests, Blue Sky Organic Sodas are made with natural and organic ingredients. Since these ingredients are not synthetically derived, they are safer for the environment and for consumption. Blue Sky is a subsidiary of Hansen’s. Green Issues: Like many smaller beverage companies, Blue Sky has yet to truly address its packaging impacts in any meaningful way. Also they do not seem to incorporate any substantial elements of green building design in their plants. Lastly, Blue Sky is not very transparent about any environmental initiatives beyond its ingredients. Ingredient Analysis: Blue Sky’s products are free of almost all problematic soda additives. The only one we found was fructose, which in large quantities, has been linked to health concerns. But, as always, fructose is safe for most people in moderation. Greenopia Verdict: Great ingredient selection makes Blue Sky a green beverage company, but there is still some room for improvement. |
