  I regrettably work for Walmart for the time being. The waste that comes from my location alone is shocking. One example is a great set of “Eco-Glass” drinking glasses being featured for Earth Month. These drinking glasses are made of a percentage of recycled glass. Upon building the feature, one package was damaged resulting in a lot of broken glass. The Walmart procedure in my location is to provide the container and shipping sticker to the “Claims guy” and toss the broken glass in the trash. We do not recycle broken merchandise. In addition to the massive amount of waste, the fumes and dust in our store is terrifying! Working as a stocker overnight, I have even witnessed hired temporary help spray-painting our shelves to improve their appearance. This was done indoors next to the stocking associates for a period of several nights! I could go on and on but I think the public should be aware of what type of business they are supporting and the toxic air they are breathing while shopping.
