Valentine's Day gifts should be an expression of love, but often end up being  Jewelry, chocolate, clothes and a cocktail- all of which make truly lovely and thoughtful gifts and give back to people and the planet.

Zulugrass Eco Jewelry

Made from fibrous, drought-resistant grass that's quite plentiful (sometimes it's even burned to get it out of the way), the Zulugrass necklaces and bracelets from the Leakey Collection are handmade by a Massai women's collective in Kenya. In addition, "5% of profits go back to supporting infrastructure in the Rift Valley of Kenya."

Chocolate is a traditional Valentine's gift, but raw chocolate is not only sweet and delicious, it's got even more good-for-you antioxidants than the conventional kind. Fine and Raw's selections are sweetened with agave instead of sugar, and flavoured with luscious tropical ingredients. Check them out: Raw cacao paste, cacao butter, blue agave, virgin coconut oil, cacao powder, himalayan sea salt, lucuma, vanilla, chipotle, raspberry. Can't get more decadantly, deliciously natural than that.

Cool Earth Tree Protection T-Shirt

Cool Earth is a great organization that protects rainforests (the 'lungs of the Earth') and works with local communities to do it. Rainforests sequester Carbon dioxide, and so every time an acre is destroyed, more CO2 makes it into the atmosphere, exacerbating climate change. Support the great work of Cool Earth with this cute organic t-shirt:  "Halt an amazing 36 tonnes in CO2 emissions with this fantastic T shirt, designed exclusively for Cool Earth. This garment guarantees the protection of 12 trees in the Peruvian Amazon."
