Sustainable Stretching at SF's Yoga Tree Studios
      by Victoria Everman News Archives

Keeping fit and sane in the bustle of the city environment is beyond tough. Taking yoga classes has become exponentially more popular than it was just 20 years ago. Physical toning and mental balance are the two most common reasons folks partake in this nearly 6,000-year-old practice. Due to yoga’s popularity, choosing a studio has become almost as difficult as choosing a place to have dinner.

One of San Francisco’s longest running and most widely established yoga studios is Yoga Tree. Founded by husband-and-wife team Tim and Tara Dale, Yoga Tree now has four locations in SF’s busy neighborhoods, with a fifth on the way. Even with thousands of practitioners visiting daily, Yoga Tree manages to present a personal and friendly experience.

Yoga Tree offers the widest array of classes in numerous yoga styles, including Ashtanga, Prenatal, Anusara, Vinyasa, Restorative, and Iyengar. Over 50 teachers present these classes 7 days a week – you are guaranteed to find the right teacher for you! In addition, two of Yoga Tree’s locations offer massage services, which are a perfect addition to your muscle-intensive practice.

On top of all Yoga Tree’s fantastic offerings, they are also a founding member of the Green Yoga Association. Yoga Tree’s green business practices included extensive recycling, cleaning mats with organic essential oils, purchasing office supplies made from recycled paper and plastic, and their retail sections are filled with goods made from sustainable fabrics, eco-conscious materials, and companies that donate to helpful causes.

Having personally practiced at Yoga Tree for 2 years, I couldn’t imagine going anywhere else. I can exercise happily and rest easy knowing that I’m supporting a local business that cares about planet Earth as much as I do.
