Journey Into Green:
How did singreenqueen come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
In the early 90’s when environmental concerns were taking hold, I opened a green business in upstate New York where I developed and sold all natural and recycled products for the home and garden. It was very exciting to work with artists and suppliers to find and create products that not only added beauty to one’s personal environment but were also globally responsible. While my passion helped to launch an on-going Earth Day Celebration in Kingston, NY and a devoted customer base, I returned to Manhattan to pursue other interests. While working as Director of Direct Marketing for American Baby Magazine I embarked upon a two year degree program in Feng Shui and the knowledge reignited my interest in the home. That’s what really interested me in real estate. I knew that I could help people navigate through the changes in their lives… where it impacted those most… in their homes. And now it’s come full circle; I became New York’s First Certified Eco-Broker in 2006. Her classes prepared her to define, locate and mitigate environmental hazards as well as training in ways to build, retrofit and develop sustainable living spaces.
