First, we brought you ten great fellows who make the world just a little bit greener. Now, check out our look at some of the ladies who are working to bring you an eco-friendly planet. From film to activism to government, here are a few of the world’s women who are making things just a little bit better for the rest of us.

Betty Draper swims with sharks! January Jones plays an unhappy 1960s housewife on the hit series Mad Men. Now, she’s using her celebrity to bring attention to the plight of sharks. These oceanic predators are increasingly endangered due to over fishing and finning. Jones has teamed up with Oceana to help pass The Shark Conservation Act, which would mean stronger protection for all the sharks out there in the great blue seas.

Amy DuFault
This advocate for eco-fashion came across her first green designer five years ago and has never looked back. Since then, DuFault has championed the fight for sustainable designers through writing, sales, PR and marketing. As she told me, "One of the things that always astounds me is how the majority of people are turned off by eco-fashion. They think it's something you get at a dump or for hippies and refuse it could ever be considered fashionable." Recently, Amy launched her own e¬co-boutique called Shift, where she incorporates everything she's ever done in the eco-field, from PR to sales.

Daryl Hannah

Did you know this actress is also an environmental activist? Hannah is the founder of dhlovelife, a website filled with environmental news, tips and products. This site offer products that are vegan, nontoxic, biodegradable, preferably recycled or at least recyclable, extremely useful, long-lasting, fun and have minimal packaging. http://www.naturalhomemagazine.com/People-and-Places/Daryl-Hannah-DH-Lovelife.aspx Most recently, the actress had the Trans Am she drove in Kill Bill II converted entirely to a 100% pure ethanol based engine.
Nunei Harrington
This native of Surrey, England, has made a career of promoting organic and natural beauty products. As an esthetician, Nunei noticed common salon ingredients fell short. As she told me, “Many were harmful, plus a lot of consumers are still unaware of how harmful they are!” Her skincare philosophy is simple: if you can't ingest it, don't put it on your skin. And she practices what she preaches – Nunei can produce a complete facial entirely made from fresh produce. You can find Nunei at Nori’s EcoSalon, located in Sherman Oak, California.

Alice Wu
In a world of eco-designers, Alice Wu is one of the most innovative. Alice is the Oakland half of fashion design team Feral Childe, which started out making one-of-a-kind pieces using garments district scraps and basically all the other the stuff that nobody wanted. Sourcing for eco fabrics is still fairly limited, so each season Alice designs her own textile prints as well. She produces her clothes right in NYC's Garment District. Much of the dyeing and printing are done locally as well, and fabric leftover from production is donated to schools and crafters. Feral Childe is available in boutiques across the country like Beklina, EcoCitizen, Kaight, Clary Sage Organics, Embodies and more. Alice is into experimental composting (old socks, fabric scraps) and hasn't washed her Prius in probably 18 months. It's more eco that way!

Danielle Brigida
You know all the green articles you peruse throughout the day? This lovely green lass helps disseminate them to the world. Danielle is a social media strategist for the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). She serves as the Federation's principal voice on social media sites. As her co-worker recently lauded, “In a time when competition for influence among environmental websites and organizations is high, Danielle is the rare person who helps bridge divides by sharing her knowledge with everyone, building capacity so that all conservation and environmental groups can continue to grow their audiences and spread their messages via new media.”

Mary Vance
This southern farm girl grew up raising horses and growing giant organic zucchini squash, radishes, and tomatoes in her backyard. Now she is a certified holistic nutritionist in San Francisco who teaches clients how to eat local, sustainable, seasonal, and organic and participate in their local foodshed. She's also a staff journalist at Terrain, an environmental magazine published by the non-profit Ecology Center in Berkeley, CA, where she pens articles on food policy, organics, and health. You can find Mary on her blog about green living, holistic health, and nutrition.

Sara Ost
New media maven Sara Ost is the founder and editor-in-chief of ecosalon.com, a popular green blog and a leading lifestyle and fashion site for smart green girls everywhere. A committed greenie, Sara is also a very supportive, influential and friendly face in social media, always willing to give advice, promote green stories and share eco content all over the web.
Josie Maran
Green girl Josie Maran has modeled for Glamour and Sports Illustrated, and she has appeared in films like The Aviator and Van Helsing. Now, she’s eco-entrepreneur whose eponymous cosmetic line is one of the best on the market. Josie Maran Cosmetics is made up of a 70-piece line for eyes, lips, cheeks, skin and more. It is free of parabens, toxins and petrochemicals, and it contains a large percentage of natural and organic ingredients.

Lisa Jackson

The current head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Jackson leads EPA’s efforts to protect the health and environment for all Americans. She has a staff of more than 17,000 professionals “working across the nation to usher in a green economy, address health threats from toxins and pollution, and renew public trust in EPA’s work.” In a world where partisan politics rule, it’s hard to believe that we can move forward with truly eco-friendly legislation. Keep the faith, Lisa Jackson! Our world is in your hands!
