About Thegoodbanana:
Thegoodbanana's interests, passions, hobbies and favorite activities, etc.
I am a young Realtor in Vancouver, British Columbia. Long-term, I am interested in designing green homes and bringing more efficient, effective lifestyle products for the home that are also Earth-friendly (as all products should be, but aren't, already). I enjoy business, hockey, technology, science, health, fitness and good drink and food. I have also recently, started a blog about green products for hobby. I hope people will check it out and help me to make it better. Cheers.

Journey Into Green:
How did Thegoodbanana come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
When I was in Journalism School, a class-mate of mine was really active in promoting green living. In fact, he ran in our riding to be mayor of our city as a green party leader- now i realize he was a very intelligent and forward thinking man, though at the time, I was too immature and young to appreciate his values as I do now. Anyways, we were at the pier one day, and he said 'look a duck'. It was just a single duck amongst probably a hundred boats. Another one of our classmates had said...'if i throw a rock at it do you think, i'd kill it', and Stephen said, 'if you kill that duck, we should kill you...because here that duck is worth more than you and us and all of this.' That made a lot of sense to me...because I hadn't liked the overdevelopment of the city I grew up in, Richmond, British Columbia. It was that day that I realized what a precious commodity our environment is...and I haven't looked at things the same way since then.

Recommendations:
Thegoodbanana's favorite books, movies, TV Shows, environmental organizations, or local community groups.
Some books I've read are the 'lazy environmentalist' and 'EcoDesign' and I read a lot of popular science and popular mechanics, which are organizations that are now throwing there energy into green living and technology.
