My husband and I are getting ready to launch an earth-friendly candle company on the Internet (goal date is Earth Day 2009). We recently moved to SW Washington and we are less than a mile to the beaches of the pacific ocean. We are working on running our new business as earth friendly as possible ie using recycled packaging, labels, shredding our business paperwork and using for packing, no. We are also looking into installing solar panels on top of our workshop so that we can power the candle equipment naturally.

How did sallyleecandles come to be involved in Earth-conscious living?
My mother was always interested in earth-conscious living and when I learned about the benefits of soy wax candles I gradually became more and more interested in this style of living. Living near the ocean it is difficult to NOT be interested in the plant since we can see first hand the struggles that our environmnt is dealing with. I admittedly have a long way to go on my journey.
